Ingredients

2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs, separated
2 c. sweet milk
2 tsp. baking amonia
2 tsp. lemon oil
5 c. flour
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add egg yolks and beat.
Add lemon oil; dissolve amonia in milk and add to mixture.
Use enough flour to make batter the consistency of cake.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg white.
Add remainder of flour to make a stiff dough. Roll on floured board and cut with cookie cutter into desired shape.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 15 minutes or to a light brown.
