Happy Day Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening (room temperature)
    1 c. milk
    1 c. butter
    2 eggs (unbeaten)
Preparation
    Sift flour before measuring. Measure into sifter the cake flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Measure into mixing bowl the shortening. Measure into cup the milk, butter and eggs. Stir shortening to soften. Sift in dry ingredients. Add about 3/4 cup milk and mix until flour is dampened. Beat 2 full minutes. Add eggs and remaining milk. Beat 1 minute longer. Bake at 375\u00b0 about 25 minutes for layers (35 minutes for loaf cake).
