Aunt Hazel'S Filled Peppers(Yield: 6 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 green peppers
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 Tbsp. oil or margarine (for frying)
    1 whole garlic, peeled and chopped
    salt
    pepper
    1 (No. 2) can crushed tomatoes
    3 tsp. crushed herbs (oregano, basil and chervil)
    1/2 c. chopped onion, sauteed in oil (optional)
Preparation
    Boil pepper in salted boiling water for 10 minutes.
    Cut a lid off each pepper.
    Let drain and cool; remove seeds.
    Brown beef and garlic cloves in oil or margarine for about 10 minutes; drain. Add salt and pepper and pour into a pot with the crushed tomatoes (and onion if desired).
    Simmer for 5 minutes.
    Add crushed herbs to your taste.
    Serve with boiled potatoes or rice.
