French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 onions
    1 stick butter or margarine
    4 cans condensed beef bouillon
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    French bread
    Gruyere cheese
Preparation
    Thinly slice onions.
    Saute onions until clear.
    Add beef bouillon.
    Bring to boil and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.
    Ladle into ovenproof crocks.
    Add 1/2-inch slice of toasted French bread and sprinkle with grated cheese.
    Place crock under the broiler until the cheese is melted and browned.
