Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes (undrained)
1 (12 oz.) can corn with peppers, drained
1 (8 1/2 oz.) can cream-style corn
1/4 c. cornmeal
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/3 c. coarsely chopped black olives
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

In large skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain off excess fat.
Add tomatoes, corn, cornmeal and seasonings; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
Stir in olives.
Turn into 8-inch square dish.
Sprinkle cheese over meat mixture.
Carefully spoon topping over cheese, spreading batter out to edges.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes or until top is lightly browned.
