Jello Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large pkg. Jell-O (any flavor)
    1 (16 to 20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1 (12 oz.) carton Cool Whip
    1 (12 oz.) carton cottage cheese
    1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Heat pineapple with juice in saucepan; sprinkle in Jell-O and stir until melted.
    Let cool.
    In large container, mix all remaining ingredients well, then mix in jello mixture.
    Place in refrigerator for 1 hour or longer.
