Successful Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    enough cold water to moisten cornstarch
    1/2 c. boiling water
    3 egg whites
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    few grains salt
Preparation
    Dissolve the cornstarch in the small amount of cold water. Stir in the boiling water.
    Cook until thick and clear.
    Cool. Beat the egg whites until stiff.
    Add salt and then sugar gradually.
    Beat in the cooled cornstarch and beat until of the right consistency to stand in pretty peaks.
    Brown in 375\u00b0 oven.
