La. Strawberry Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    6 c. milk, scalded
    6 eggs, beaten
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 large can evaporated milk
    4 pt. strawberries
Preparation
    Blend sugar, salt and flour.
    Add to scalded milk.
    Bring to a boil slowly, stirring often.
    Add small amount of hot milk to beaten eggs, stirring constantly.
    Add egg mixture to hot milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and coats spoon.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla.
    Allow to cool.
    Stir in evaporated milk and crushed strawberries.
    Pour into freezer.
    Makes 1 gallon.
