Italian Creme Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 stick oleo
    1/2 c. shortening
    5 eggs, separated
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 c. coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cream the sugar, oleo and shortening. Add egg yolks, beating after each.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with 1 cup of buttermilk.
    Add vanilla, coconut and chopped nuts.
    Beat 5 egg whites stiff and fold into cake.
    Bake 30 to 40 minutes in 3 layer pans.
