Deep Dish Curried Chicken Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. butter
1 c. diced onion
1 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 c. chopped celery
3/4 c. chopped apple
1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. curry powder
1 bay leaf
3 c. cooked chicken
3 c. chicken broth
1 c. heavy cream
2 Tbsp. diced chutney
1 egg yolk
salt and pepper to taste (optional)
prepared pie crust
Preparation

Melt butter or oleo;
add
onion,
garlic,
celery
and apple. Cook and stir for
5 minutes.
Sprinkle with flour and curry. Add salt, pepper and
bay leaf.
Add chicken broth and stir until sauce thickens.
Cook over low heat for 10 minutes; add chicken, cream, chutney and
cook for 1 minute.
Pour into casserole;
fill so pastry
doesn't
sag.
Cool
some
before covering with pastry; brush
rim
with egg yolk.
Leave margin with
pastry; then trim.
Cut
slits
in
pastry.
Place
dish under casserole. Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 45 minutes.
