Summer Sangria - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 c. orange juice
    1/2 c. brandy
    1 large orange, quartered
    1 lime, sliced
    1 c. honeydew melon balls
    1 (750 ml) bottle dry red or white wine, chilled (25.4 oz.)
Preparation
    Combine sugar and water in a large pitcher.
    Add juice, brandy and fruit.
    Just before serving, add ice cubes and chilled wine. Very good and pretty with Burgundy wine.
    Serve in a large glass pitcher.
    Very pretty.
