Hillbilly Fried Pies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. Crisco
4 Tbsp. water
Preparation

Mix pastry as usual.
Work dough into a firm ball. Divide pastry in half.
On lightly floured surface, roll 1/2 into about 10-inch square. Cut into four 5-inch squares or circles.
Repeat with other half of dough, after filling the first 4.
I like to cook dried fruit until tender, sweeten to taste and use enough water to keep from sticking. Fry in about 1-inch of Crisco on medium heat, turning once.
