Baked Alaska - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 individual shortcakes
1 pkg. frozen strawberries
1 pt. ice cream
6 egg whites
1/2 c. sugar
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cut fruit and ice cream into convenient pieces.
Place in freezer to re-freeze. Prepare meringue as follows:
Beat whites, slightly. Add salt and vanilla. Continue beating until very stiff. Add sugar, a tablespoon at a time, and beat only until sugar is well blended.
Place shortcakes on cookie sheet.
Place frozen fruit in center, the ice cream on top. Cover generously with meringue.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 4 to 5 minutes. Watch them carefully.
