24 Hour Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce (bite-size)
    1 can peas, drained
    1 onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 c. celery, chopped
    1 can water chestnuts
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    6 oz. grated Monterey Jack cheese
    crinkled bacon
    chopped green onions
Preparation
    Cover layers with mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle sugar on top.
    Add grated Monterey Jack cheese and crinkled bacon on top of salad. Before serving, add chopped green onions on salad.
    Toss right before you eat.
    Refrigerate 12 to 24 hours before serving.
