String-Bean Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. cooked green beans
    2 1/2 c. stewed tomatoes
    4 strips bacon
    1 Tbsp. butter
    4 Tbsp. flour
    2 tsp. sugar
    salt and pepper
    1/2 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. chopped onions
    1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs
Preparation
    Drain green beans and stewed tomatoes.
    Reserve liquid. Reduce liquid to 1 cup.
    Cut bacon into small pieces and fry until crisp.
    Add butter to bacon and fat.
    Blend in flour, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Add 1 cup liquid plus milk, chopped onions and the vegetables.
    Put in casserole, topped with buttered bread crumbs. Bake 30 minutes at 375\u00b0.
