Candied Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. whole dill pickles
    4 lb. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    3 Tbsp. pickling spices
Preparation
    Slice pickles and cover with ice; when it melts (about 5 hours), drain.
    Mix sugar, vinegar and pickling spices.
    Pour over pickles.
    Let stand for 3 days, stirring every day.
    (Do not cover.)
    Put in jars on the third day.
