Beef And Barley Dinner - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 c. water
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained (cut into pieces)
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    3/4 c. barley
    sour cream (optional)
Preparation
    In large skillet, brown ground beef, green pepper, onion and garlic.
    Drain.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer for 50 to 60 minutes or until barley is tender.
    Stir occasionally.
    When serving, put sour cream on top, if desired.
