Stuffed Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/4 c. cooked rice
    1 egg
    1 onion, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, drained
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 or 2 bay leaves (optional)
Preparation
    Steam\tcabbage
    over
    boiling\twater
    until
    softened. Remove and
    trim leaves.\tCombine next 6 ingredients in bowl, mixing well.
    Shape
    into\t2-inch\tballs.\tPlace
    on
    cabbage leaves, rolling
    to enclose filling. Spread sauerkraut in 9 x 9-inch baking
    dish.
    Place
    cabbage
    rolls seam side down on sauerkraut. Cover
    with
    tomatoes;
    place
    bay leaves on top. Bake, covered, at 250\u00b0 for
    2
    to 3 hours or to desired degree of doneness.
