Crocked Country Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. cut up frying chicken
    3 carrot, scraped and sliced
    2 onions, peeled and sliced
    2 celery ribs, sliced
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 small bay leaf
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Brown chicken pieces, skin side up, under broiler.
    Blot well. Combine with remaining ingredients in slow cooker.
    Cover and cook on low for 7 to 10 hours.
    Remove bay leaf before serving.
