Oatmeal Carmelitas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

50 light candy caramels (14 oz. pkg.)
1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 c. flour
2 c. quick oatmeal
1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. melted butter
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips (6 oz. pkg.)
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Melt caramels in evaporated milk in heavy saucepan.
Cool slightly.
Combine remaining ingredients except chocolate pieces and pecans in large mixing bowl.
Press half of mixture in bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans. Spread carefully with caramel mixture.
Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until golden brown.
Cut into bars or squares.
