Winter Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    13 qt. cabbage, shredded (about 5 large heads)
    6 to 10 red or green peppers, shredded
    20 medium onions, shredded
    3 qt. vinegar (dark)
    13 c. sugar
    1/3 c. salt
    1/3 c. mustard seed
    1/3 c. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Pour over vegetables hot.
    Let stand 12 hours.
    Cold pack just until jars are hot and sealed.
    Boil about 15 minutes.
