Buttermilk Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 3/4 c. buttermilk, heated
    4 1/2 c. flour (sifted beforehand)
Preparation
    Mix water and yeast and set aside to soften.
    In a large bowl, mix sugar, soda, salt and buttermilk.
    Add shortening and yeast. Stir in flour.
    Turn out dough on a floured surface.
    Knead and shape into rolls.
    Place rolls in buttered pans, brush tops with melted butter.
    Set aside and allow to rise 2 to 3 hours.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes or until brown.
