Chinese Plum Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium onion, cut in wedges
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. vinegar
3/4 c. sugar
2 lb. fresh plums, quartered
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. almond extract
Preparation

In saucepan, cook onion in oil until soft.
Mix cornstarch with vinegar and sugar. Add to onion. Cook, stirring until thickened. Add plums, salt and extract. Continue cooking until fruit is tender.
Spoon some sauce over partially cooked spareribs. Grill, brushing frequently with sauce.
Heat remaining sauce to serve with barbecued spareribs.
Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
