Ingredients

1 c. white sugar
2 sticks butter
1 1/2 c. blackberry jam with seeds
3 whole eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. raisins
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter.
Add eggs and jam.
Combine flour and spices, leaving out a small amount of flour to coat raisins and nuts.
Mix batter, dry ingredients, buttermilk and soda.
Add raisins and nuts that have been coated in flour.
Pour in 3 greased and floured cake pans.
Bake for 35 minutes at 325\u00b0.
Cool and ice.
