Cabbage Wedges With Cheese Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 head cabbage (large)
6 slices bacon, crisp and crumbled
2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
1 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
few grains cayenne
3/4 c. milk, undiluted
1/4 c. water
3/4 c. shredded cheese
Preparation

Cut cabbage head into 6 wedges.
Cook in large pan of salted water until done or steam the wedges.
Fry bacon until crisp and crumble.
Save 2 tablespoons drippings in pan.
Add flour, salt, pepper and cayenne and blend well.
Add milk and water and cook until thick, stirring constantly.
Add cheese until melted.
Drain cabbage and place on platter.
Pour sauce over wedges and sprinkle with bacon crumbs.
