Cranberry Fruit Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1 well beaten egg
    1 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
    Stir in orange juice and orange peel, shortening and egg to dry ingredients.
    Mix until well blended.
    Stir in cranberries and chopped nuts.
    Turn into a two 9 x 5-inch loaf pans, greased on bottom only.
    Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool thoroughly before cutting.
    Makes two loaves.
