Candied Sweet Potatoes Or Carrots - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium sweet potatoes or 3 lb. raw sliced carrots
    1 c. white sugar
    1 stick butter
    1 heaping Tbsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Peel potatoes and slice lengthwise, then cut like a French fry.
    Wash potatoes and drain.
    Melt butter in pan.
    Add sugar; cook over medium heat.
    Add wet potatoes, placing all in one direction.
    Sprinkle cinnamon over top of potatoes.
    Cover and cook until you hear steam inside pan.
    Turn heat to low; cook for 10 minutes.
    Use syrup mixture to baste over potatoes.
    Repeat basting often.
    Cook until tender, or about 15 minutes.
