Mother'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. powdered ginger
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and butter; add sugar gradually while creaming. Sift dry ingredients.
    Add eggs and then sifted dry ingredients. Then add molasses and water to Crisco and sugar mixture.
    Beat with a rotary beater to mix thoroughly and pour into well-greased oblong cake pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Serves with vanilla sauce.
    Serve 16 to 18.
