Ingredients

3 lb. young fresh okra
6 cloves garlic
6 tsp. celery seed (whole)
6 pods hot pepper (optional)
6 tsp. dill seed (whole)
1/2 c. salt (not iodized)
1 c. sugar
1 qt. water
1 qt. white vinegar
Preparation

Pack washed okra in 6 pint jars; divide garlic, celery seed, hot pepper and dill seed between the jars.
Combine salt, sugar, water and vinegar in large saucepan.
Bring to boil and pour into jars within 1/2-inch of top.
Seal jars and place in water bath for 5 minutes.
