Old Fashioned Cream Of Tomato Soup(4B'S Restaurant) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    32 oz. can diced tomatoes
    9 oz. chicken broth, undiluted
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. chopped onion
    pinch of baking soda
    2 c. cream or half and half
Preparation
    Mix tomatoes, chicken broth, margarine, sugar, onion and soda in saucepan.
    Simmer one hour.
    Heat cream in double boiler (or microwave) and add to hot tomato mixture.
    Soup is now ready to serve and enjoy.
