Cream Cabbage(This Was My Mother, Vera Hancock Dean'S Recipe.) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    chopped cabbage
    1 egg yolk
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    butter (size of an egg)
    red pepper
    1 c. cream
Preparation
    Beat together in pan all ingredients except cabbage and cream. Stir over heat until boils.
    Stir in milk; let boil.
    Pour over chopped cabbage while hot.
