1-2-3 Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. softened butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 can frosting (chocolate or vanilla)
Preparation
    Beat shortening until fluffy, then gradually beat in sugar. Next, beat in eggs, one at a time, then vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Beat into creamed mixture alternately a little at a time with milk.
    Bake in greased tube pan for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out dry.
    Bake at 350\u00b0.
    Cool on rack for 10 minutes, then turn out on rack to cool completely, then frost.
