Flaky Pie Crust - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
1 egg, beaten
5 Tbsp. ice water
1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation

Sift flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Cut in shortening until mixture is the size of a pea. In a separate bowl, combine egg, water and vinegar. Sprinkle with 4 tablespoons water over flour mixture. Mix lightly with a fork. Add remaining egg mixture. Mix only until pastry holds together. Gather dough together and press into a ball. Wrap in wax paper. Chill 15 minutes. Roll out on floured pastry cloth. Makes two to three 9-inch crusts.
