Red Onion Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. red onion, sliced thin
    4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 c. red wine vinegar
    1 pkg. sure-jell
    1 1/2 c. apple juice
    1 2/3 tsp. sage
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. butter
Preparation
    Mix onions, vinegar, juice, sage, and pepper.
    Stir in sure-jell and add butter on high heat until it comes to a full, rolling boil.
    Add sugar an bring to a rolling boil again for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Put into hot jars and seal by turning jars upside down for 5 minutes.
