Tomato Green Bean Soup(Prep. Time: 30 Minutes) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped carrots
    2 tsp. butter or stick margarine
    6 c. chicken broth
    1 lb. fresh green beans, broken
    1 garlic clove, minced
    3 c. diced fresh tomatoes
    1/4 c. minced fresh basil or 1 Tbsp. dry
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, saute onion and carrots in butter for 5 minutes.
    Stir in the broth, beans and garlic; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
    Stir in the tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper.
    Cover and simmer 5 minutes longer.
    Yields 9 servings.
