Country Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large yams, peeled and sliced
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    dash of salt
    nutmeg and cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 stick butter
Preparation
    Place water, yams and all other ingredients in a pan.
    Cover and bring to a boil.
    Lower fire and simmer until done and liquid thickens.
    Pour yams in casserole dish.
    Place in oven, uncovered, and cook for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
