Hamburger Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef or turkey
    1 onion
    28 oz. can tomatoes
    7 c. water
    1/2 green pepper
    1 c. celery
    1/2 c. celery tops
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 c. pearl barley
    2 carrots, sliced
    2 potatoes, cut up
Preparation
    Brown meat and add all ingredients except carrots and potatoes.
    Bring to a boil.
    Let simmer 45 minutes. Add carrots and cook about 15 or 20 more minutes, then add potatoes and cook another 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
