Cotton Mill Mashed Potatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. potatoes
1/3 to 1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
Preparation

In the early days of the cotton mill, there was a potato bell which was run 30 minutes before the workers came home for dinner. This was a reminder for the person who was preparing the meat to start cooking the potatoes as they would be home soon.
