French Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. stewing beef
    2 medium onions, cut in eighths
    3 stalks celery, cut in large pieces
    4 carrots, quartered
    1 c. tomato juice
    1/3 c. quick tapioca
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. basil
    2 medium potatoes, cut in 1/4-inch slices
Preparation
    Combine beef, onions, celery and carrots in 2 1/2-quart casserole.
    Combine tomato juice, tapioca, sugar, salt, pepper and basil.
    Pour over meat and vegetables.
    Cover and bake in a 300\u00b0 oven for 2 1/2 hours. Add potatoes and cook 1 hour longer. Stir occasionally.
