Mamaliga(A Traditional Romanian Dish Everyone Will Love) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 qt. water
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. fine yellow cornmeal (must be yellow)
4 Tbsp. butter
1 c. sour cream
1/3 lb. white cheese, grated (Brick, Muenster, etc.)
1/3 lb. yellow cheese, grated (Colby, Cheddar, etc.)
Preparation

In a 4-quart pot, bring 1 1/2 quarts water to a boil.
Add salt and move the pan off the heat.
Stirring constantly, slowly sprinkle in the cornmeal.
Stir well so there are no lumps.
Return to burner and bring to a boil.
Turn down to simmer and let the mush cook slowly for 20 minutes or more.
Stir often.
The final product should be the consistency of thick cake batter.
If it is too thick, stir in a little more water.
