Black Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. black beans
    1 ham bone (some meat left on)
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped carrots
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Place beans in a large Dutch oven.
    Cover with 2-inches water. Soak 6 to 8 hours.
    Add
    ham bone and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer
    covered
    about
    2
    hours.
    Add veggies, salt and pepper and stir to mix.
    Simmer covered for 1 hour.
