Four Hour Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. stew meat, uncooked
    5 or 6 potatoes
    3 or 4 carrots
    2 stalks celery
    1 onion
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    salt and pepper
    1 qt. tomato juice
Preparation
    Meat may be frozen, no need to thaw.
    Place meat into large casserole (5 or 6 quarts).
    Place meat in casserole dish.
    Place vegetables around it, sliced, and the onion on top.
    Sprinkle with sugar, cornstarch, salt and pepper.
    Pour tomato juice over all. Bake at 250\u00b0 for 4 hours, covered.
    Do not open oven until done.
