Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. yellow corn meal
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 well-beaten egg
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. melted shortening
Preparation
    Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
    Mix with corn meal.
    Combine egg, milk and shortening.
    Add to dry ingredients and stir with fork until moistened.
    Bake in greased 9-inch square pan at 425\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
