Italian Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (28 oz.) can Italian plum tomatoes
    4 Tbsp. olive oil
    3 large onions, chopped
    3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    2 (6 oz. each) cans tomato paste
    1 1/2 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Place tomatoes, half at a time, into blender and process at Puree for 1 minute.
    In deep fryer, heat oil and saute onions and garlic in olive oil until soft, but not brown.
    Add tomato puree and remaining ingredients.
    Turn fryer dial to first medium, then turn to simmer.
    Cook sauce uncovered for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
    If necessary, add a little water as the sauce cooks.
