Dutch Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large green tomatoes
    1 egg
    1/2 c. bread crumbs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cut the tomatoes into 1/2-inch thick slices and soak in cold salted water for 1 hour.
    Beat egg in small dish.
    Mix dry ingredients in another small dish.
    Dip tomato slices in beaten egg and then in crumb mixture.
    Fry in margarine until lightly browned.
