Hamburger-Beans Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. navy beans
    3 qt. water
    1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
    1 1/2 c. dried celery
    2 c. dried carrots
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    1/3 c. uncooked rice
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    1/2 to 1 lb. ground beef
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Wash beans.
    Add water and boil for 5 minutes.
    Add tomatoes, celery, carrots, onion, rice, bouillon cubes and hamburger.
    Season to taste.
    Add bay leaf.
    Yields 10 servings.
