Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. plain flour
1 c. dried apples, cooked (unsweetened)
1 lb. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. soda, mixed in apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, beating well.
Add cinnamon and allspice.
Add flour and apples alternately, beating slowly until well mixed.
Stir in raisins and 1 cup chopped nuts. Bake in a 300\u00b0 oven for 1 1/2 hours.
