Ohio Grange Cookbook Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    1 to 2 onions, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. cumin
    6 tsp. chili powder
    3 cans tomatoes
    3 cans dark red kidney beans, drained
    2 tsp. salt
    2 c. hot water
Preparation
    Brown beef, onions, garlic and spices (except salt) together until beef is no longer pink.
    Add tomatoes, water and salt; bring to a boil and cook 1 hour on low heat, stirring occasionally.
    Add kidney beans; simmer another hour.
    Serve with corn bread or saltines.
