Ingredients

1 1/4 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c. whole milk
2 Tbsp. soft shortening
Preparation

Mix flour and sugar together.
Beat egg; add milk and shortening and blend into flour mixture.
Drop batter on hot griddle.
Turn pancakes when bubbles appear.
Makes 16 (4-inch) pancakes.
