Black Forest Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (18 1/4 oz.) pkg. devil's food cake mix with pudding
    1 (8 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spread batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan; bake according to package directions. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack. Slice cake horizontally to make 3 layers. Place bottom layer on cake platter; spread about 1 cup whipped topping and top with 1/3 of cherry pie filling. Repeat process with second and third layers. Chill well.
